Badruddin Taiyabji was the first Muslim president of the Indian National Congress party.
He was selected after selected as the third President of the Congress from 1887 to 1888 after WC Bannerjee and Dadabhai Naoroji (1886).
In 1895, he became the first Muslim judge of the Bombay High Court and third Indian to hold such a prestigious title.
Born on October 10, 1844, Badruddin was also the first Indian to hold the post of Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
