On the day of Shab-e-Meraj, 50 prayers were initially made obligatory for Muslims. Then, Prophet Musa (A.S.) advised that the Ummah (community) of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) would not be able to fulfill this requirement. So, the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) requested Allah to reduce them, and finally, the number of obligatory prayers was reduced to 5.
