The Great Sufi Saint of Sindh Hazrat Sachal Sarmast was born in 1st January 1739 CE (1152 Hijri) and died in  11st April 1827 CE (14 Ramadan 1242)] ( Aged 90 years) at Daraza Shareef Ranipur Khairpur Mirs Sindh Pakistan. His mausoleum was built by Mir Rustam Khan Talpur. At that time, he was ruler of Khairpur Mirs state.

Celebrating 201st Urs Mubarak of Abdul Wahab Farouqi popularly known as Sachal Sarmast. He was also known as Shair-e-Haft Zaban (poet of seven languages).

“Sachal” or “Sachoo”, were his nicknames. He used this pen-name in his poetry. Sachu which means ‘truthful’.

His poetry emphasised on Haqeeqi Ishq (divine love) as he was ardent believer of Wahdat-ul-Wujood (unity of existence). In his poetry, one can feel that he strongly believed in tolerance among races, caste and genders.
