Arafat Day is observed on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, during Hajj, when pilgrims gather at Mount Arafat.

Arafat Day is a significant day in the Islamic calendar and is considered the most important day for pilgrims performing the Hajj. It is also known as Yawm Al-Waqf, which means “the Day of Standing”.

Some things that are said to happen on Arafat Day include:

  • Allah perfected Islam
  • The Prophet Muhammad delivered his farewell sermon at Mount Arafat
  • Allah descends to the skies and forgives pilgrims
  • Fasting on Arafat Day absolves sins for the previous and coming years

Some recommended actions to take on Arafat Day include: fasting, increasing acts of worship, making du’a, and giving sadaqah.
