- Uganda’s Victor Kiplangat won the men’s marathon at the World Athletics Championships 2023.
He crossed the finish line with a time of two hours, 8 minutes, 53 seconds – 19 seconds ahead of Teferi. - Kiplangat’s victory made him the first Ugandan champion since Stephen Kiprotich in 2013, and the first non-Ethiopian winner since 2017.
